The program is funded by a $2 per capita ordinance that provides for the acquisition and development of public art in Kent.

The City’s public art collection includes nearly 500 pieces with a value of more than $1.5 million. Many pieces in the collection are portable works that are displayed in public areas of City buildings. The collection also includes a variety of installations, earthworks, and projects that are integrated into buildings and parks. There are currently 71 permanent public artworks that are featured on the map.
