The safety of participants is a prime consideration when determining if programs should be cancelled due to inclement weather. Parks Department classes and programs held at Kent School District or Federal Way School District facilities are cancelled when the corresponding school district closes due to inclement weather.

Parks Department Activities at the Kent Senior Activity Center**

The Kent Senior Activity Center will open 2 hours late when the Kent School District has issued a "Late Arrival Notice" or "School District Closed" due to weather related conditions. When the Kent School District closes due to weather, the Kent Senior Activity Center will cancel all scheduled programs. Decisions regarding evening open hours will be determined by noon of that day. Weather Information Line

The weather information line will have updated information during the season on cancellations due to inclement weather for all sports programs. Decisions for cancellations will not be made until 4 p.m. each day for youth and adult sports programs (Youth Track decision will be made at 3 p.m.).
