Our neighborhoods have completed some great projects with matching grant funds.

2018

Laurel Springs

  • 150 foot long by 8 foot high retaining wall
  • City of Kent contributed $1,890.47
  • Neighborhood match $8,350.16

  • Donations calculated to be $1,921.63 

White Horse Crossing

  • The neighborhood wanted another way to communicate for announcements and information to 109 homes
  • City contributed $320.33

Saltair Hills

  • This neighborhood has added more benches for walkers
  • With 196 homes walkers now have a good 1 mile block radius and 4 resting spots
  • City contributed $343.13
  • Neighborhood match $898.69
  • Project total cost $1,241.82
  • Total volunteer hours were 31

 


2016

Seven Oaks East Neighborhood Council


  • The entire neighborhood cleaned, prepped, and painted reflective house numbers on the curb in front of every home
  • This built neighborhood camaraderie with 95 homes
  • City contributed $1,700.18
  • Neighborhood match $1,700.18
  • Project total cost $2,205.58
  • Total volunteer hours were 46
  • Donations calculated to be $788.74.


2015

Mill Creek Neighborhood Council


  • Since 2014, a portion of the Mill Creek neighborhood has been designated as a King County Historic Landmark District
  • The grassroots efforts of the residents now have close to 100 plaques mounted on homes in the neighborhood
  • The Third Edition of "A Community of Unique & Historic Homes" is now available highlighting the neighborhoods history
  • City contribution $1,810
  • Neighborhood match $2,380
  • Project total cost $4,336.76
  • 170 volunteer hours
  • $146.76 in donations.


Pheasants Hollow Neighborhood Council


  • The community surrounding the neighborhood tackled a large project of installing new playground equipment
  • Part of the project involved cleaning and beautifying the entire park
  • City contributed $8,204.08
  • Neighborhood match of 103 volunteer hours calculating to $1,445.36
  • Neighborhood contributions $8,052.96
  • Total cost of the project was $17,845.11


 Saltair Hills Neighborhood Council

  • Added two new benches off of SE 252nd Street and 25th Avenue S
  • Enhanced the corner of SE 250th Street and 20th Avenue S
  • City contributed $932.26
  • Neighborhood match in volunteer hours was 159 calculating to be $2,366
  • Total cost of the project was $3,298.26
