The City of Kent strongly encourages participation by the general public in local government. The Mayor and City Council believe the city is best served when there is broad representation of Kent residents serving on its boards, commissions and task forces.

While all positions are voluntary, some require certain skills or training. Vacancies occur at varying times throughout the year. 

The City Council appoints members to the Special Events Center Public Facilities District (PFD) Board of Directors, as well as the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee.  All other appointments are selected by the Mayor and subject to confirmation by the City Council.

Applications for all boards and commissions are accepted throughout the year, but may not be considered until a vacancy occurs.
