The City of Kent Corrections Facility (CKCF) offers a variety of jail alternatives for non-violent offenders. After court sentencing, you may apply for alternative options such as Electronic Home Detention or Work Release.

The City of Kent Corrections Facility offers the following inmate programs

Applications must be picked up and returned in person. To obtain an application you must have a copy of your court-ordered sentencing paperwork.

A 2-week payment is collected on the scheduled start day of the sentence. Weekly payments are collected until paid in full at the time of your scheduled release.

Electronic Home Detention

The program utilizes GPS and Breath testing equipment in the home to track offenders.

You may work, attend school or be on total home confinement, based on approval. Some employment may not qualify.  You must live and work in King County or North Pierce County to be eligible.

Usage of breath testing equipment and GPS monitoring equipment must be paid by the offender and is included in the program fees.

Work Release

The program allows an offender to continue his/her employment outside of the corrections facility.  Some employment may be not qualify.

The Work Release program is a partial confinement program that included dormitory style housing, located within the jail, in which offenders provide their own clothing and transportation. Extended work hours are not allowed, offenders must be confined for a minimum of 12 hours per day.

Work Crew

This is an in-custody program that is available to City of Kent offenders who are not currently employed and within 6 months of release.

City of Kent Work Crew offenders will be housed in a dormitory style area of the jail.  Work Crew offenders with sentences of 9 days or less may report daily and be released at the end of the work day.

Offenders are assigned to job location by Programs Staff and participate in projects such as lawn maintenance, beautification of the city, janitorial and other physical labor skills.

Work hours are typically Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.  Additional work credit days can be earned through the Work Crew program.

Eligibility

Participation in any program is conditional upon offender’s acceptance in programs.  You may apply in-custody in the City of Kent Jail or out of custody after court sentencing.  Obtain applications in person.

Outside Agency Commitments court paperwork must specify that time can be served in the City of Kent Corrections Facility.  All Outside Agency Commitments must pay $40.00 application fee and $50.00 daily fees to participate on a program.

Good time is available for all programs if rules compliant and authorized by the court.
