    RESOLUTION TO CONCUR IN ANNEXATION OF THE BRIDGES NEIGHBORHOOD

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, in accordance with RCW 35.10.217, that the Kent City Council will hold a public hearing during a special City Council meeting on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 5 p.m. in Kent City Hall Chambers, located at 220 Fourth Avenue South, Kent, WA 98032, to consider adopting a resolution that concurs in the City of Auburn’s annexation of the Bridges Neighborhood, effective January 1, 2024, or such later effective date as the cities of Auburn and Kent may mutually agree.

The Bridges Neighborhood is bounded by SE 288th Street to the north and SE 304th Street to the south, 118th Avenue SE to the west and 124th Avenue SE to the east, and is surrounded entirely by the city limits of Auburn.

This public hearing on November 28, 2023, will occur only if the King County Boundary Review Board does not invoke jurisdiction, on or before November 27, 2023, on the Notice of Intention filed by the City of Auburn under Document File No. 2416. If the King County Boundary Review Board invokes jurisdiction, the November 28, 2023, public hearing will be stricken until after the King County Boundary Review Board concludes its review process.

If you wish to present testimony in person, please sign up with the City Clerk during the meeting. Written public testimony may be submitted in advance of the public hearing by regular U.S. Mail to the City Clerk’s Office, 220 Fourth Avenue South, Kent, WA 98032, or by electronic mail to Cityclerk@KentWA.gov.  Any advance written testimony must be received no later than 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, to be considered, unless you appear in person at the public hearing, in which case you may hand your written testimony to the City Clerk. Written comments will be admitted into the record, but will not be read aloud during the public hearing.
