Notice of Filing of the 2024 Preliminary Mid Biennium Budget

Adjustments and Schedule of Public Meetings and Hearing

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Kent Preliminary Mid Biennium Budget Adjustments has been filed with the City Clerk. A copy will be made available to any person requesting the record from the City Clerk.

On October 3, 2023, the City Council will hold a workshop at 5:15 p.m. in Council Chambers, Kent City Hall, 220 Fourth Avenue South, Kent, Washington 98032, to discuss the budget. This is an open public meeting under Washington law, and the public is invited to attend. However, public testimony will not be allowed unless listed on the agenda or approved by the City Council during the meeting.

On October 17, 2023, the City Council may hold a workshop at 5:15 p.m., in Council Chambers, Kent City Hall, 220 Fourth Avenue South, Kent, WA. 98032, to discuss the budget. This is an open public meeting under Washington law, and the public is invited to attend. However, public testimony will not be allowed unless listed on the agenda or approved by the City Council during the meeting.

On October 17, 2023, the City Council will meet at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers, Kent City Hall, 220 Fourth Avenue South, Kent, WA. 98032, to hold the second public hearing on the 2024 Mid Biennium Budget Adjustments; public hearings on the 2023 Tax Levy for the 2024 Budget, and the Comprehensive Plan Capital Facilities Element Amendment, including the 2024-2029 Capital Improvement Program and associated impact fee changes for the Auburn, Kent, Highline and Federal Way School Districts’ Capital Facilities Plans and the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authorities Capital Facilities Plan. and fix the final budget. Any person may appear and be heard for or against any part of the budget during the public hearing. Any person wishing to submit oral or written comments on this matter may do so at or prior to the hearing.

On November 7, 2023, the Committee of the Whole will meet at 4 p.m. in Council Chambers, Kent City Hall, 220 Fourth Avenue South, Kent, WA. 98032, to discuss the 2024 Mid Biennium Budget Adjustments and the 2024-2029 Capital Improvement Program, the 2023 Tax Levy for the 2024 Budget, and the Comprehensive Plan Capital Facilities Element Amendment for the Auburn, Kent, Highline and Federal Way School Districts’ Capital Facilities Plans and associated impact fee changes, and Puget Sound Regional Fire Authorities Capital Facilities Plan.

On November 21, 2023, the City Council will meet at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers, Kent City Hall, 220 Fourth Avenue South, Kent, WA. 98032, and may adopt the final 2024 Mid Biennium Budget Adjustments and related Ordinances. This is an open public meeting under Washington law, and the public is invited to attend.
