Computational Thinking Day Open House

On Tuesday, April 25th, we will be dedicating the school day to Computational Thinking, which is an important aspect of learning at Excel Public Charter School. Our students know that when we talk about computational thinking (CT), we mean solving hard problems of all kinds using ideas from computer science. CT strategies include decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction and algorithmic thinking.

Throughout the school day, students will tackle a series of fun CT challenges in lieu of their regular classes. After school, we are opening our doors to the community so you can see what our CT program is all about! Come help launch our weather balloon into orbit, explore examples of our students’ computational thinking powered projects, participate in some of the same Computational Thinking Day challenges and activities students have already attempted, and learn more about Excel’s Computational Thinking program.
