Soos Creek Botanical Garden RED BARN PROGRAM: Mason and Leafcutter Bees

Presented by Missy Anderson

Missy Anderson is Queenbee and a local expert in the Puget Sound area for all things Mason Bees and Leafcutter Bees. Her business “Rent Mason Bees” is focused on providing gardeners and fruit growers with native pollinators.

Come hear Missy speak about these amazing creatures that are gentle, non-aggressive, busy little pollinators. Learn why they are so important, how to protect their native habitat and attract them to your garden.

Missy will have complete, ready-to-hang Mason bee kits available, from 10am to 3pm, for you to take home for a nominal fee. You can return your kit to the Garden on Wednesday, May 31st, at the end of the pollination period and “Rent Mason Bees” will do the hard work of cleaning them, and caring for the baby bees the rest of the year. For more information visit www.rentmasonbees.com.

The Garden is not yet open to the public on March 15th, but you are invited to explore it on this very special preview day from 10am to 3pm.

This program will be held at Soos Creek Botanical Garden in the Red Barn, adjacent to the parking area.

Soos Creek Botanical Garden and Heritage Center is dedicated to promoting the enjoyment, understanding and conservation of plants and the natural world along with our community’s local history through education, research, and stewardship.
