Portion Control – It’s in Your Hands
When snacking on chips, nuts, etc. limit yourself to what fits in your cupped hand. Limit proteins (e.g., steak, chicken, pork) to the size of your flat palm. Use your fist to portion out starches and veggies. Two fists of salad with one thumb’s worth of dressing (on the side). Give yourself a thumb’s up if you use a 9” plate instead of a 12”.
