Online Police Reporting Frequently Asked Questions

Question:  What do I do if online incident reporting is not right for me?

Answer:  If your incident is an emergency, call 911. If you would like to speak to an officer or are in need of a translator call (253) 852-2121. This phone number directs you to the 911 system which is also used to report non-emergency events.

Question:  What if this happened in another city.  Can I file a report using this online police citizen reporting system?

Answer:  No.  If a crime took place outside of the City of Kent Police Department's jurisdiction, please call the police department for that city or use the online reporting links for nearby cities listed below.

Question:   What if this happened on I-5 or Highway 167?

Answer:  If this took place on I-5 or Highway 167 please contact the Washington State Patrol Office.      

Question:  What is a known suspect?

Answer:  A known suspect is when you or someone else knows the person, where to find the person, or the license plate number of the vehicle the person(s) was in who committed the crime.

Question:   How was this site translated?     

Answer:  The vendor provided software with translations for Spanish, Chinese, and French. Other languages translated were paid for by grant funding obtained by the Kent Police Department.
