Community Garden P-Patch
Welcome to the city of Kent's Community Garden! We offer 44 plots, each approximately 20’ X 20’, tools, a composting bin, water hoses and bibs. There is a $45 per plot water fee for the entire season plus a $25 refundable deposit. A maximum of two plots per person is allowed. For the 2013 season, registration for returning community gardeners opened Wednesday, February 27. Registration for new gardeners opened Monday, March 11 for the remaining plots. Plots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and a waiting list is maintained. Once the garden opens, gardeners must show some activity in their plots within a reasonable period of time or risk losing their space, which is then offered to the first name on the wait list.
Please familiarize yourself with the Use Agreement, which all gardeners are asked to sign before they receive the gate code. An orientation for all registered gardeners was held on March 20, 6-7 p.m. at City Hall. If you have any questions or would like more information, please email Victoria Andrews.

This garden is a special partnership between the city of Kent and the Kent Bishop’s Storehouse and Cannery. The land is on property owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and the city manages the P-Patch program. To keep this program viable for both partners, we rely heavily on you, the gardener, to help maintain the property.

The garden is a great place to meet others who enjoy gardening, get out in the sun, exercise and save a bundle on produce and flowers!

The soil the Kent Valley yields great produce and the location offers lots of sun for your plants to thrive in.
Once you have registered and have your plot assignment, you will receive a booklet of Community Garden P-Patch Guidelines. Please read and familiarize yourself with them before you begin gardening.
Kent Food Bank
While selling produce and flowers grown at the community garden is not allowed, we encourage you to donate any extra produce you may have to the Kent Food Bank. Rarely does the Food Bank enjoy fresh produce, and we have an opportunity to help those less fortunate in our community. In addition, we ask that you register as a Community Gardener at the Food Bank. This way, we can track how much food the garden can produce for those in the community!
