Jamie Perry graduated from the William O. Douglas Honors College at Central Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Policy.  She then went on to obtain her J.D. in the spring of 2006 from the University of Oregon Law School.  After law school Jamie returned to her hometown of Kent, Washington to work as a Family Law attorney.  She is currently working as an attorney for King County Superior Court.

 

In 2008 Jamie was appointed to the Kent City Council and was the youngest member on the council at 27 years old.  Jamie was elected to retain her seat in 2009.  As the chair of the Economic and Community Development committee, Jamie enjoys working to diversify the economy in Kent and planning for future growth.  

 

Regionally, Jamie serves on several boards including the Sound Cities Association which brings together cities from across King County to deal with regional issues, as well as enterpriseSeattle, a public-private economic development partnership that provides services to businesses seeking to establish, expand or relocate to King County and its 39 cities. She was also elected to 2013 SCA Executive Committee. Here at home, she is a former board member and volunteer mentor for Communities in Schools of Kent.

 

In her personal life, Jamie is married and has two daughters.  In her free time Jamie enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends, watching movies, working out, and playing with her dogs Allie and Brutus.  She is also an avid football fan and a self described political junkie.

City Council

The seven-member City Council is the legislative forum for the City of Kent. The Council is responsible for approving financial expenditures and adopting the city budget as well as establishing policies and regulations in order to guide Kent’s future.
