LAKE FENWICK PARK
The Lake Fenwick fishing dock will be closed for safety reasons until further notice. We will be working as quickly as possible to have the dock repaired or replaced. The floating walkway will remain open for use. We apologize for the inconvenience to our fishing community.

300 grass carp were released in Lake Fenwick on Tuesday, June 23rd.  These sterile (cannot reproduce) non-native fish have been introduced into the lake to control (and hopefully eradicate) Brazilian elodea, an aggressive non-native aquatic weed that has spread throughout the lake and is exacerbating water quality problems.

These fish are currently 12 – 16” in size, but will grow large in years to come as they hopefully eat themselves out of a food source on the bottom of the lake (there are currently a handful of grass carp within the Riverbend golf course ponds that are at least 3’ long weighing 20 – 30 pounds – these fish will be MUCH larger than any other fish currently in Lake Fenwick).

Signs have been posted at the boat launch and letters have been sent to all residents within the Lake Fenwick watershed explaining what is going on and why it is happening.  It is our hope that the watershed residents will be our eyes and ears out there and will report to Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife if anyone is poaching these fish (it is illegal for fishermen to take these fish out of the Lake once we have introduced them).

If you have any questions please direct them to Matt Knox at 253-856-5551.
