Kentview Sanitary Sewer Interceptor
Tuesday, June 24, 2014, 11:00 AM Pacific Time, at the City Clerk's office
Notice is hereby given that the City of Kent, Washington, will receive sealed bids at the City Clerk's office through June 24, 2014 up to 11:00 a.m. as shown on the clock on the east wall of the City Clerk's Office on the first floor of City Hall, 220 4th Avenue South, Kent, Washington. All bids must be properly marked and sealed in accordance with this "Invitation to Bid." Bids must be delivered and received at the City Clerk's office by the above-stated time, regardless of delivery method, including U.S. Mail. All bids will be opened and read publicly aloud immediately following 11:00 a.m.
The project consists of installing approximately 2,486 LF of 18” PVC sanitary sewer pipe, 20 LF of 10” ductile iron sanitary sewer pipe, 250 LF of 6” PVC side sewer pipe and 10 each of 48” diameter manholes. Also included is traffic control, temporary erosion and sedimentation control, restoration and various appurtenances.

Bids must be clearly marked "Bid" with the name of the project on the outside of the envelope, addressed to the City Clerk, 220 4th Avenue South, Kent, WA 98032-5895. Only sealed bids will be accepted. No facsimiles will be considered.
Each bid shall be in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents now on file in the office of the City Engineer, City of Kent, Washington. Bid documents can be downloaded online at no charge, or copies of the Kent Special Provisions may be purchased at a non-refundable cost of $50.00 for each set. Copies of the WSDOT Standard Specifications are available for perusal only.
A cashier's check, postal money order or surety bond in the amount of 5% of the bid is required.
The City of Kent reserves the right to reject any and all bids on any or all schedules or alternates or to waive any informalities in the bidding and shall determine which bid or bidders is the most responsive, satisfactory and responsible bidder and shall be the sole judge thereof.
No plea of mistake in the bid shall be available to the bidder for the recovery of his/her deposit or as a defense to any action based upon the neglect or refusal to execute a contract.
Bidders must submit with their initial bid a signed statement as to whether they have previously performed work subject to the President's Executive Order No. 11246.
No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the day of bid opening.
