Kent is the sixth largest city in Washington State with a population of approximately 120,000 and covers a geographic area of 34 square miles. About the Kent Police Deparment
The Kent Police Department is nationally accredited by the Washington Association of Sheriffs & Police Chiefs (WASPC). WASPC accreditation provides a strong basis for effective law enforcement and safety education policies and procedures. The department staffing consists of 144 sworn officers and 49 full-time and 2 part-time civilian personnel.
We average about 90,000 dispatched calls and average about 17,000 case reports per year.
