112th Avenue SE Watermain Improvements
This project is part of a larger project to increase water pressure for homes in the higher elevations on the east hill that have had problems with low water pressure. The project includes:
- Installation of 2,980 feet of 16" water pipe on 112th Avenue SE from SE 236th Place to SE 240th Street and from 112th Avenue SE to approximately 109th Avenue SE
- Installation of an 18" drain pipe from the existing water tank to 112th Avenue SE
In a previous phase of this project, the city of Kent constructed a 4-million gallon water reservoir and a new transmission main to serve the new zone. The water surface elevation at the new reservoir is 640 feet above sea level, giving the new zone its name. The reservoir will provide up to an additional 22 pounds per square inch of water pressure to the homes in this zone.
