James Street Pump Station

Project Description:

James Street Pump StationThis is the last phase of a three-phase project that will help to alleviate flooding on James Street by diverting storm water to the Green River.  This area has experienced seasonal flooding that affects nearby properties, and can close James Street or cause unsafe driving conditions during heavy rainfall.

Phase I and II have been completed.  Under Phase I, the City installed storm water pipes along Central Avenue from Titus Street to the Kent Courthouse.  Under Phase II, the City connected the storm pipe from Phase I to the new pump station site.

In Phase III, the pump station will be installed at James Street.
