The Kent Arts Commission hosts an annual series of free outdoor events!

 

2016 Kent Summer Concert Series

During July and August, enjoy some of the region's best live performances.

Republic Services Wednesday Performances Noon - 1 p.m. Town Square Plaza, 2nd & Harrison

Thursdays at the Lake, 7 - 8:30 p.m., Lake Meridian Park, 14800 SE 272nd St. (shuttle bus service available)

  

Kent Summer Concert Series performer applications

Kent’s Summer Concert Series takes place throughout July and August with 12 performances in two outdoor settings that are open and free to the public.

 

“Wednesday Picnic Performances” are held from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Town Square Plaza in downtown Kent. These concerts are especially for kids and their families, and typically draw 500-2,000 people to enjoy music, juggling, physical comedy, and more.

 

“Thursdays at the Lake” are held from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Lake Meridian Park and draw anywhere from 500-1,500. These performances are for general audiences and feature a diverse array of music genres.

 

Covered stage and professional sound system/technician are provided.

 

There is no application form. To be considered as a performer, please send a press kit featuring a video or audio demo, a description of the artist(s), and tech requirements to Cultural Programs Manager Ronda Billerbeck at rbillerbeck@kentwa.gov or 220 4th Avenue South, Kent, WA 98032. There is no formal deadline, but consideration will begin in the fall of the prior year. Please submit by the end of October for full consideration.

 

 

Admissions

Summer concerts are FREE. Donations of any amount are accepted on site the day of the performance. Your generosity helps us continue to offer free, quality performances to all Kent residents. 

Seating

All seating is unassigned, lawn seating and first come, first serve.  Visitors may bring their own chairs or blankets.

Special Needs 

Please let us know in advance how we may be able to help and we will provide reasonable accommodations to those needing special assistance.   

A Note to Parents and Guardians 

The Kent Summer Concert Series is family friendly and offers some performances that are especially for kids and families. 

Shuttle Bus Service for Thursday at the Lake Concerts

Free and convenient! Offsite parking is available at Kent Fire Station #75, 15635 SE 272nd Street, just east of Lake Meridian. The shuttle bus runs non-stop between 6:30-9pm, arriving at Lake Meridian about every 15 minutes.
