SafeCam Program Information and Registration

The Kent Police Department SafeCam program provides an opportunity for members of the community to assist law enforcement and to help deter crime in their respective neighborhoods.

What is the SafeCam Program?

The SafeCam Program is a community action initiative that allows residents and business owners the opportunity to register their personal security cameras with the Kent Police Department.  The Kent Police Department will not have remote access to your camera(s).  By registering your camera system(s) with us, it will enhance law enforcement’s efforts to solve crimes in your neighborhood and/or business district.

Why Should I Register?

Video surveillance is one of the best methods for apprehending criminals and convicting suspects who are caught in the act of committing a crime. The Kent Police Department invites you to join our crime fighting team by joining our SafeCam Registry Program. The program allows residents and business owners to register the locations of their video surveillance systems with the Police Department. Using the geographic locations of the registered cameras, the Department will be able to REQUEST program participants to check their video surveillance system for a specific date and time of when the incident occurred in their area. If the participant finds any video evidence, they can contact the Kent Police Department to make arrangements for video retrieval at the convenience of the camera owner.

How Can I Register?
