West Hill District
The West Hill District consists of Neighbors of West Hill, Saltair Hills, and Greenfield Park Neighborhood Councils. This is the most southwestern area in the City with the northern boundary following SR516.
Communication is just starting within the district to form a district board, establish bylaws, work on future district goals and plans, and file as a non-profit. If you are interested in taking a lead role in helping establishing this district email Toni Azzola, Neighborhood Program Coordinator or call 253-856-5708.
Projects in the West Hill District include:
Envision Midway. To prepare for the future Sound Transit Link light rail station, the Cities of Kent and Des Moines have completed Envision Midway, an effort to consider and design a future that will foster economic revitalization of the area around Pacific Highway South. Centrally located between Seattle and Tacoma, the area offers spectacular views of Puget Sound to the west and the Kent Valley and Cascade Mountains to the east. Pacific Highway South (SR-99) is the commercial spine of Midway, and Highline Community College serves as an anchor for activity.
Lake Fenwick - Floating Dock Replacement The floating dock at Lake Fenwick Park is beyond its lifecycle age and is in need of replacement. The floats are failing and the dock needs significant repairs.
